Where's the Ankle Monitor

I'm gonna be honest. Quarantine life has been hard on Bobby. I daresay, I don't know if he'll ever be the same. 😆

In all seriousness though, he's finishing up his "potential exposure" quarantine, and it's safe to say the sour taste in my mouth left behind by the amount of government overreach in keeping a healthy 4 year old boy under house arrest won't be dissipating anytime soon (I won't even go into it's futility). It feels like a game. I don't like games. I don't even like fun games! Okay, so obviously he hasn't been suffering, but that's not really any of their business and not the point. When the department of public health as an entity working under the state and/or federal government requires that a child, or any person for that matter, remain in their home and away from other persons when they don't even have a communicable or infectious disease (or break any laws requiring post-imprisonment probation)? I get a little testy. A little incensed that our personal freedoms are being encroached upon.

I'm not often (that I know of) accused of being radical, fanatical, or an extremist so am I being dramatic or overzealous? Maybe. But tell that to the 4 year old boy who thinks he did something wrong. There are 3 things I try to use as a compass when raising my children: God, Country, and Family. So when any of those three things are being threatened, I don't take it so well. I assured him that it's not his fault that he had to quarantine, but reiterated to him how important freedom is. How it's worth the risks. That we're blessed to live in America and that we can't ever take those blessings for granted. We must stand up for and preserve those blessings and freedoms every day from all those, both foreign and domestic, who would see their demise. From those who would piece by piece, bit by bit, strip away those freedoms.

I think he was a bit perplexed by my soapbox address, but I'm confident my message of patriotism, nationalism, and just 'here for it' love of America, and what she stands for, shone through. 😂
