Circus Circus

Today was the Circus! It probably seems a little bit silly or premature to take a 21 month old to the circus, but I haven't been in twenty years. I guess I was more excited about it than she was, and having a kid was the excuse I'd been waiting for! We went to Sioux City at the Tyson Events Center. All things considered I would say it was a pretty good show. A lot of people that I heard from or reviews that I read were pretty negative, but for Sioux City, I thought it was worth my money. They had performing elephants, tigers, camels, and poodles. There were aerial artistic dancers, a human canon ball, BMX motocross stunt riders, and misc acts. At intermission, Piper, Rick, and I rode an elephant. I had done it once as a YOUNG child, maybe 3 or 4 and I've always remembered it. I'm not sure if Piper will remember this (probably not) but its a memory I can share with her as she gets older and I'm sure this won't be our last trip to the circus.

We stopped at Red Robin for a bite (and bottomless root beer floats!) after the show. Piper was sooo beyond tired but she fought through like a champ.

But on the ride home she just couldn't hold out any longer and crashed. I was kind of jealous to be honest.

I think Piper's favorite part were the aerial dancers and the motocross bikes. She was just amazed by the dancers as they hung and swayed and danced with those long ribbon/fabric ripes hanging from the ceiling. She literally just stared at them in a trance. Mom said she'd be ripping the sheets off the bed and hanging them from the ceiling practice. Next thing we know she'll be joining the circus (every parents ambition for the their child ;) ). She really like the motocross though. Hard to explain, but they started out with 3 guys on bikes in a large, round metal cage. They drove round and round and round inside that metal cage, then would add another guy and then another. It was insane watching these 5 guys on dirt bikes driving around it what was (considering!) a small little circle! But then this other motocross biker came out of nowhere and ramped the cage performing aerial stunts. Piper loved it and kept signing "more, more"! Lol we were cracking up. He did several more tricks. Well hopefully she'll crash and sleep well tonight. I know I'm beat!
